Whole building power, lighting
power, and plug loads are measured using digital power transducers. These
sample voltage and current waveforms at high speed and have powerful digital
signal processing, assuring true RMS (Root Mean Square) output accurate
to 0.5 percent. The power transducers are used in conjunction with 600V
class split-core current transformers (CT's).
The panels shown here are located in the basement. No additional wiring
was necessary to measure plug and lighting load separately. The components
of whole building power that are measured individually are lighting, plug
load, and cooling power. These do not add up
to the whole building power; approximately 100kW of power is not measured.
