Air Flow
Air flow velocity is measured at four locations on a representative floor.
The floor has two zones and flow is measured on the hot and cold decks for
each zone. The type of sensor used is an electronic hotwire anemometer
air flow sensor. The sensor is inserted about 5" into the air ducts and
returns a linear output voltage and proportional to air velocity. The air
velocity is multiplied by the cross-sectional area of the duct to obtain
air volume in cubic feet per minute. The repeatability of the sensor is
±0.5%.
